“Honesty Victimised CBI Politicised”

A common government official cannot defend himself from the onslaught of a wellorchestrated CBI. The innocent defender needs to have huge amount of funds at his disposal which is seldom the case. Most of the time he will be a full time government employee working full time in a government office or in a Corporate sector or in the Defence sector with little time to spare for defending against the might of the CBI. And above all, emotionally he would be a terribly demoralised person in his social and official circle with the print and electronic media having a field day about his case. But if you know that you have been falsely implicated, then it is your duty to yourselves, to your families, relatives, and friends and to the Institution/Organisation you belong to, to stand up boldly and fight it out. It will cost you huge sums of money, time, effort, sleepless nights and ostracism even from your near and dear ones which will pain you the most but never give up. Fight it to the finish, till you are able to get back your lost recognition, respect and dignity in the society that you live in. The fight may be long like in the authors case 13 long years into his retirement till he crushed the CBI and regained his recognition and respect in the society.

In an intense competitive world, propelling of false allegations as a means to tarnish the image and reputation of an otherwise competent officer will be on the increase for untold personal reasons. Our society in general and Government Corporate offices, Defence, Public Sectors and bureaucracy in particular fall prey to such gullible propaganda very easily. CBI would have done a yeomans service if they save the innocent and bring out the culprits into the open. But that is seldom the case. This is one such story of an honest but straight forward and high calibre Indian Naval officer who was hauled up by the CBI for 13 long years after retirement till he was ultimately acquitted by the judiciary. But at what personal cost?
