In Programmes 2004-2005

Round Table Discussion with visiting scholars of US, Dr. Alice Clark – South Asia scholar, Mr. Marvin Farbman – Attorney-at-Law & Executive Director, Connecticut Legal Services & Prof. Evelyn Farbman – Professor of English at Capital Community College was held on January 11, 2005.  Among present were Mr. Jayant Chhaya, Dr. Meenacshi Martins, Dr. Anupam Saraph, Mr. Raj Amonkar, Ms. Sudha Chhaya, Dr. Rahul Tripathi & Mr. Arjun Halarnkar.  The possibilities of some collective study on various community development and social issues were discussed among the participants.

This was an exploratory discussion for identifying programmes which can assess “Literacy in English”, “Legal Aid to Poor” & “Housing in Goa”.  The discussion concluded that there is a need to create a consolidated “Database of all Laws” enacted in Goa for ready reference by common citizen along with Legal Practitioners.
