Dr. S. Jaishankar is Minister of External Affairs, Government of India and a member of the Rajya Sabha. He was earlier President – Global Corporate Affairs at Tata Sons Private Limited. A career diplomat, Dr. Jaishankar served as Foreign Secretary (2015-18), Ambassador to United States (2013-15), Ambassador to China (2009-13), High Commissioner to Singapore (2007-09) and Ambassador to the Czech Republic (2000-04). He has also served in other diplomatic assignments at Indian embassies in Moscow, Colombo, Budapest and Tokyo, as well in the Ministry of External Affairs and the President’s Secretariat. His book The India Way: Strategies for an Uncertain World (Harper Collins) was published in 2020. Dr. Jaishankar was awarded the Padma Shri in 2019.
