The Lore of Seven Sisters from Goa – A Cultural Study
The talk is about a cultural study of the worship of seven sister goddesses and their lone brother in Goa. The worship is spread across three talukas of Goa. The worship involves many archaic rituals, such as walking through the fire, dancing with lit earthen lamp on the head and more. Since some of these worships cease to exist today,
the lecture will aim in highlighting these rituals and connect them to folklore prevalent.

The talk will draw a comparative analysis of lore of seven sisters across the regions in India and understand the patterns in oral histories and narratives.
