The International Centre Goa (ICG), in association with Sangath, invites academics, journalists, public policy experts and independent researchers to apply for ICG Research Grants (ICGRG) 2019-2020.

Theme: For 2019-20, research proposals are invited on the following theme: Social determinants of mental health (with a focus on India). We are especially interested in proposals that focus on the role of one or more of the following: age, class, caste and gender.

 

Who can apply? Applicants must be residents of India. The grants will not be awarded to those writing their PhD dissertations. Women and minorities are especially encouraged to apply.

How to apply? The applicant is required to submit the following:

  1. A two-page research proposal (single spaced, size 12 font); and
  2. Short bio (no more than two pages) including email address, place of residence and work (if any) and list of publications.

Short-listed applicants will be informed of ICG’s decision within 6 weeks. At that time, they must be prepared to submit a full-length research proposal (including plan of work) of approximately 10 pages within 4 weeks, two sample publications/writings, and a complete cv.

Up to two applicants may be selected for ICGRG 2019-20 for an amount not exceeding Rs 2.5 lakhs.

The grants will be disbursed in three-four instalments over a 12-month period. The grants are meant to be utilized for research work (including purchase of books and some travel) and writing and cannot be used to purchase equipment.
